1. The Blue Boat House
📍 Mounts Bay RoadYou must have come across Perth’s most famous little shed on your feed at some point - and for good reason. The Blue Boat House (a.k.a the Crawley Edge Boatshed) sits right on the Swan River, framed by endless sky and shimmering water. Easily recognised by its bold blue paint against nature’s calm backdrop, this quaint little spot can stop anyone mid-scroll or stroll.
Just know that you won’t be the only one chasing that iconic shot - so set your alarm, grab strong coffee, and catch it in the first morning light for the best vibes (and fewer photobombers). It’s only a 15-20 minute bus ride from Campus Perth, and if you’re a resident heading to UWA, you’ll literally pass by it on the way!

2. Elizabeth Quay
📍 Perth CBDElizebeth Quay is the cool kid in Perth, the one who just *always* looks good from every angle. During the day, you can snap this waterfront showpiece with its sweeping pedestrian bridge and get a trippy shot with the skyline’s reflection in the water. But nighttime is when you get that vibrant, cosmopolitan feel - with the city lights bouncing off the river! Plus points if you can get the snaps during a festival or night market for that extra pop of colour.
If staying out at night isn’t your thing, you can pop by at sunset too for that gorgeous golden hour shot. And with the must-visit Gusto Gelato in the heart of the area, definitely get a cheeky sweet treat after. For something a little fancier, hit up any of the nearby restaurants for a friendly hangout or romantic riverside date!

5. Cottesloe Beach
📍 Cottesloe
If Perth had a favourite child, chances are it’s Cottesloe Beach. Early mornings with soft light and gentle waves make for perfect calm, moody shots, but sunset is when the magic happens. Golden hour transforms the sky into a kaleidoscope of pinks, oranges, reds, and purples - creating that enchanting backdrop for dramatic silhouettes, sandy strolls, or that classic “feet in the sand” shot. It may take a 45-minute train ride from Campus Perth, but we promise it’s worth every minute!
